In my last blog, I talked about why it's essential to update your headshots. Now I want to talk about how we can get it done! Here's what to consider and how to prepare for your headshot session.

Where should I take my headshot pictures?

Do you have an office or favorite place to work? Or maybe your profession means you're always on the go, and you're on location. I've even done headshots right outside of the client's home! Any of those locations could be a great place to capture a headshot.

What do I wear?

Think about what professional looks like for you and in your line of work. If you're a personal trainer, wearing a formal suit isn't an accurate representation of how you show up to work. And your cute workout clothes wouldn't be appropriate if you're a lawyer (Unless you're a fitness lawyer? Is that a thing?).

Do I need makeup?

I think this is up to personal preference and what you're comfortable with. Having your makeup done by a professional makeup can be a confidence boost, and a skilled artist will know how to make you look your authentic best. But for some people, makeup just isn't their thing. Show up however you feel most comfortable!

How long will it take?

This can vary based on your needs. For a super basic session (think 1-3 final images), plan for about 15-20 minutes. If you need shots with a few different outfits or locations, this will obviously add time to your session.

If you know you need to update your headshots, but aren't sure where to start, let's connect! We can come up with a plan to suit your needs and put your best face forward.
